This package contains an updated kernel for all the MIPS(el) based products. It fixes some security issues, as well as adds a bit more functionality for newer applications.

NOTE: If you have installed a third party application on your machine you should check with the vendor of that application before installing this kernel upgrade. Some third party applications install a modified kernel in order to facilitate thier functionality. Installing this kernel upgrade could affect that functionality. Do not install this upgrade if you have an ISDN Sun Cobalt Qube appliance.

This update contains fixes for file system and the operation of the cache subsystem.

This patch addresses several problems with the Sun Cobalt CacheQube appliance:

• Fix: /home partition no longer fills up. Symptoms of /home becoming full include:
  • missing statistics for seemingly random days.
  • interrupted caching service for short periods.
• Fix: caching of name-based virtual servers now works.

All Sun Cobalt CacheQube customers should install this patch.
